Badshah Marks 20 Years in Music Industry With Reflective Note

Mumbai — Rapper and singer Badshah marked 20 years in the music industry by sharing nostalgic throwback photos and an emotional note reflecting on his journey, sacrifices and growth.

Badshah posted a series of pictures on social media showing different stages of his life and career. The carousel opened with a childhood photo of him sitting beside his father, followed by images from his teenage years and early adulthood with friends and loved ones.

Celebrating two decades in music, Badshah wrote, “20 years in the game.

Ye raste kahan kahan se guzre, kisi din batayenge tumhe

Kaise bator ke rakhe dil ke tukde, kisi din batayenge tumhe

Kya khoya kya paaya, kya kharcha kya kamaaya

Kaun kaun zindagi mein kis cheez ke liye aaya

Wo taare jinki chahat thi wo mile ke nahi

Wo beej jo boye the wo khile ke nahi

Wo pair jo rakhe the zameen par gadaakar

Tufaan aane par wo pair hile ke nahi

Hua kya aur kya nahi kisi din batayenge tumhe

Hum jeete ya nahi kisi din batayenge tumhe.”

The note roughly translates to Badshah reflecting on the roads he has traveled, the broken pieces of his heart he has gathered, what he gained and lost, what he spent and earned, and whether the dreams he pursued came true.

Singer Jubin Nautiyal commented, “Handsome boy. Now long hair plz.”

Born Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, Badshah began his music career as part of Mafia Mundeer alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh, Raftaar and Ikka.

He later emerged as a solo performer with hits such as “DJ Waley Babu” and went on to deliver popular songs including “Kar Gayi Chull,” “Mercy,” “Paagal,” “Genda Phool,” “Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai,” “Kala Chashma,” “Proper Patola,” “Tareefan,” “Jugnu” and “Players.”

Along with playback singing and rapping, Badshah has appeared as a judge on several reality shows and has become one of the most recognizable figures in Indian pop music. (Source: IANS)
