INDIA New England News: Please tell our readers about your work and what you enjoy most about it?
Anubha Sacheti: I am a pediatric dentist by training but wear a myriad of hats in the dental field. I am the Dental Director for Delta Dental of Massachusetts and the State Public Policy Advocate for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Recently I have become the Chief Dental Officer for Grush- a gaming toothbrush company. I teach the Harvard dental students and practice clinical dentistry two days a week. I really love working with kids in the office and thus wrote a Children’s book called Happy, Healthy Teeth: A guide to children’s oral health.

INE: To which charitable, community and professional group do you belong and why?
AS: I give a lot of free dentistry to Head Start and Special Needs patients. I find this population needs extra special love in and out of the office.

INE: What are you hobbies and interest?
AS: My two young daughters and I love to hit the tennis courts, go ice skating, watch Betty Crocker Kitchen on You Tube and then try out the cakes.

INE: In what way you feel you have most positively influenced or served the local community and your company/organization and professional field?
AS: Happy Healthy Teeth, my book, has been translated into many languages and helps children and families at low literacy levels understand the importance of oral health care at a young age. If we start teaching proper habits early, we can avoid a lot of pain in the future.

INE: Your rare talent?
AS: I enjoy the challenge of treating a child who is scared to get into the dental chair. I enjoy treating the autistic child or other special needs patients who can’t open their mouths or need multiple visits to get to know me.

INE: Your favorite books?
AS: To Kill A Mockinbird.

INE: Your favorite quotes?
AS: My daughter’s first word was “HAPPY”.

INE: Who inspires you the most?
AS: My husband Rajeev. He supports me in all of my crazy new ideas. He encourages me to keep plugging away. When I am over committed, he steps in and makes life easier.

INE: Your core value you try to live by?
AS: Boredom is never a good thing. Always have a next project. That comes from my father.
