Anil Kapoor Joins Met Gala Buzz With AI-Generated Majnu Bhai Look

MUMBAI — Anil Kapoor joined the Met Gala conversation Wednesday with an AI-generated twist, sharing an image of himself dressed in an outfit inspired by his character Majnu Bhai’s famous painting from the film “Welcome.”

The actor posted the image on X, formerly Twitter, referencing the viral artwork that has remained a popular part of Indian meme culture for years.

“When MET Gala met Majnu Bhai… @cultr_IN has proven that art knows no boundaries,” Kapoor wrote.

The painting, created by Kapoor’s character in “Welcome,” has become one of the film’s most enduring comic references. Its childlike and exaggerated style, paired with Majnu Bhai’s total confidence in his artistic ability, turned the scene into a lasting pop-culture joke about overconfidence and comic absurdity.

Kapoor remains active on social media and often shares nostalgic posts about his films when he is not promoting current projects.

Earlier, he reflected on the 41st anniversary of the action thriller “Yudh,” saying he was nervous about working with Hema Malini, particularly during a dance sequence.

“41 years of Yudh and I still can’t forget this moment… Playing a double role was a breeze compared to dancing with Hema ji, That aspect of Yudh had me seriously nervous! She was already the biggest star of the country, with that larger-than-life presence… and there I was, a skinny young boy just spouting “Jhakaas” and trying to keep up! (sic),” Kapoor wrote on social media.

Kapoor will next appear in the Netflix series “Family Business,” alongside Vijay Varma, Rhea Chakraborty, Neha Dhupia and Dhruv Sehgal.

He is also part of “Alpha,” starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is being described as the first female-led installment in the YRF Spy Universe and the franchise’s seventh entry. (Source: IANS)
