AmudhaSri Dance School to Present “Shakti Roopam” Dance at the 21st Annual Woman of the Year Award Gala This Friday

BURLINGTON, MA–AmudhaSri Dance School, founded by Kalaimangai Anbalagan, will present an empowering “Shakti Roopam” dance program at the 21st Annual Woman of the Year Award gala this Friday, April 26, 2024, at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA.

Description: “Empowered women, empower women. Let’s break the glass ceiling and shatter the chains of bullying. We are strong, resilient as mother, friend, Shakthi and capable of achieving greatness. Let’s support each other, lift each other up, and create a world where gender is no longer a barrier to success with equality.The dancers portray the story – who stand herself against bullying.

The dance program is choreographed by Natya Prasanna Smt. Kalaimangai Anbalagan. She is the founder and artistic director of school. She is the disciple of Guru Kalaimamani Smt Vadivudevi Pillai. She holds “Double Master Degree” in Bharathanatyam from Annnamalai University Canada along with her Master Degree in Computers Application .

AmudhaSri Dance School is a leading and eminent fine arts school located in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts with 250 students  that perpetuates the traditional dance form of Bharatanatyam. The school strives to preserve the artform’s classical rigor and the Indian heritage it is associated with, which is perceived as a popular art within our society. 

AmudhaSri Dance School strongly believes in giving back to the community by contributing to fundraisers and institutions like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,  Adyar Cancer Institute, Genesis Foundation, Umass Pancreatic Cancer Research, Doug Flutie Foundation for Autism and more.  Recognized as an exemplary member of the Indian dance community by the governor of Massachusetts, and Governor General of Rhode Island. Smt. Kalaimangai has been awarded the honorable dance title “Natya Prasanna Award”, “Excellence in Dance” by Power Global Awards.

She is a current sophomore at Shrewsbury High. She has been dancing for 12 years since the age of 4, finding joy and expression in every step. She is currently preparing for her arangetram in 2024.

She is currently a sophomore at Westborough High School. She has been learning Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Guru Smt. Kalaimangai Anbalagan for the past 10 years and completed her arangetram 2023.

Hrishitha Addagudi

She is currently a sophomore at Westborough High School.Hrishitha has been learning Bharatanatyam for the last 9 years from Guru Srimathi Kalamangai Anbalagan. She has always loved expressing her emotions and culture through Bharatnayam. She completed her arangetram 2023.

Ashwika Dandu

She is currently an eighth grader at Trottier Middle School and has been dancing at AmudaSri Dance School for 6 years. She has been dancing since she was 8 and has held a passion for dance throughout.

Shriya Prabhakar

She is an eighth grader at Gibbons Middle School. Her passion for dance began at age of six, and still continues to grow as she advances further.
