Mumbai– For over four decades, fans of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan have been gathering outside his residence every Sunday, hoping for a brief glimpse of the superstar. This remarkable tradition, which began in 1982, continues uninterrupted to this day.

Humbled by the unwavering devotion, the Paa actor took to Instagram to express his heartfelt gratitude. Sharing a photo of himself greeting fans outside his residence, he wrote:

“At Prateeksha since 1982, every Sunday at my doorstep—and after that, when Jalsa became my family’s residence from 1992–93—people have been coming to meet me and my family every single Sunday. For the last 43 years, there has been no greater example or sign of the love of the people of this country than this, which has always been honored and will always be! I bow down in humility.”

The 81-year-old actor continues to remain deeply connected with his admirers, often referring to them as his extended family.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Bachchan has stirred excitement among fans with a recent post hinting at his possible involvement in a sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. As the epic sci-fi drama recently marked one year since its release, the actor shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), reflecting on his role and the experience.

“My honoured privilege to be asked to be a part of it … one that I admired and respected. The blessings of Vyjayanthi Films and the elders that ran and connected with it … ever to be a part of it any day again, IF THEY WERE TO EVER TO ASK,” he wrote, sparking speculation about a follow-up.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone. The film, inspired by Hindu mythology, is set in a dystopian future and revolves around the mission to protect a mysterious unborn child, believed to be the prophesied figure Kalki.

Bachchan’s presence in both cinematic milestones and the hearts of his fans remains as strong as ever—a testament to his enduring legacy in Indian cinema. (Source: IANS)
