Adah Sharma explains absence from “The Kerala Story 2”

MUMBAI — Actress Adah Sharma has addressed why she is not part of the sequel to “The Kerala Story,” a film in which her performance in the original drew strong audience attention.
When the sequel was announced without her name in the cast, many fans questioned why the actress would not return for the follow-up. Sharma had remained silent from the time the sequel was announced until about a week after its release.
Breaking her silence, Sharma said she prefers to speak publicly only about projects she is directly involved in.
“I enjoy speaking about a film I am part of. When I’m not a part of a film, I feel speaking about it just to be in the news isn’t right. Whether I was offered the sequel or not is something that should remain between the makers and the actor and not really be discussed publicly,” she said.
Sharma also pointed out that the sequel tells a different story from the original film.
“The first part was about ISIS camps in Afghanistan and showed step by step how an innocent girl ends up becoming a terrorist. Part 2 is a completely different story,” she said.
Responding to fans who said they missed seeing her in the sequel and compared the two films’ box office performance, Sharma said she is grateful for the support she receives from audiences.
“My audience loves me a lot. They want to see me in every movie. They accept me in every role right from my debut with ‘1920’ where I was so scary to ‘The Kerala Story’ where I’m sweet to Sunflower where I’m wicked,” she said.
Sharma is currently preparing for several upcoming projects, including a biopic, an action film, and a horror film. She recently shared a glimpse of her transformation for the horror project, showing herself in prosthetic makeup, which has generated excitement among fans. (Source: IANS)
