A Planning Guide to the 16th Annual Woman of the Year Awards Gala This Friday

BURLINGTON, MA—If you are attending Woman of the Year Awards Gala, here is a brief guide to plan your evening and what to expect. First, some basic information about the event:

The event will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA. Registration starts at 5:30 pm. A detailed program is included towards the bottom of this article.

TICKETS: The event is completely sold out. There will be NO ticket sales at the registration desk. If you have not purchased your ticket directly or invited by someone who has purchased a table, we will not be able to accommodate you. When you come to the registration desk, please tell your last name or the person whose guest you are, we will tell you your table number.

SEATING: Since the program is jam packed and no seat is available, every attendee will be assigned a table. Please note that this a celebration of women’s achievement and honoring them, please enjoy whatever table you are assigned to and just enjoy. In that ball room, there will be no good or bad seats. Just think about 500 people celebrating accomplishments and contributions of Indian-American women.

TRAFFICK: The program will start on time and so please be punctual. Also, please note that there is a lot of traffic on Route 95 around 5:00 pm on Fridays. Thus, please give yourself plenty of extra time.

SUPER MOMS DANCE: Please note that eight super moms have prepared a special empowering dance that will kick off the program. So, don’t miss that. Please be on time.

DRESS CODE: It is literally the Oscar night for New Englanders where fashion statements are made. Eastern or Western formal dress is fine.

Here is the tentative schedule of the program:

5:30 PM          Registration

6:00 PM          Cocktail hour starts

6:30 PM          Doors open to grand ballroom

6:50—7: 00 PM         Emcees Mandy Pant and Jharna Madan kick off the event

Guest of Honor:     Guest of Honor State Rep Kay Khan

Lifetime Achievement Award Introduction: Dr. Manju Sheth, Hostess of the Evening

Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient: Shobha Shastri

Music program: Raghu Saranathan

Chief Guest and Keynote:  Robert Nelson, Director, Small Business Administration, Massachusetts.

Honoring 20 Outstanding Women

9:05 PM: Dinner by Masala Art

9:40 PM: Introduction of Judges

Chief judge speaks and announces Woman of the Year 2017

10:00 PM: Celebration begins and dance floor opens with DJ Yogi.
