NEWTON, MA–Like all fierce parents, when they got a life changing diagnosis for their son, they decided to fight and not give up. But they, didn’t stop there! And that’s what makes them visionaries.

Dr. Susan Mathew and Dr. Mathew Varghese were devastated to see their son, Jyothis, being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. In a place where there was no recognition for children with special needs, let alone the right schooling and treatment, they decided to set up a school to help him and that, was the birth of Deepti Special School and Rehabilitation Centre.

Today, Deepti doesn’t just help children like Jyothis with Cerebral Palsy but it also provides free schooling and therapy to 200+ specially abled children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Visual and other Mental challenges.

One of its kind in Kerala, today, Deepti School is like a breath of fresh air in Adoor, Kerala. It offers special academic support and rehabilitation for these gifted children. They are equipped with some of the best teachers, therapists and staff who selflessly devote their time to nurture these budding children.

Deepti also offers counselling and vocational training for parents of special needs children enabling them to be advocates for their children.

Being an unaided school, Deepti needs your support today to continue helping more children learn and adapt to leading a normal life. Deepti is looking for sponsorship and donations.

A fundraiser called Snehadeepam is being organized for the same. A musical extravaganza by talented artists of New England Thahseen Mohammed and Anitha Krishnan, presented by Compassionate Hearts Network (CHN) and supported by New England Malayalee Association (NEMA) and Kerala Association of New England (KANE) on March 2, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Wayland Middle School, located at 201 Wayland, MA.

You can be the change and continue the season of giving! Please grace this charity fundraiser with your presence and donate via cheque at the venue or if you cannot make it, right from the comfort of your homes, you can donate online.
