Madhubanti Bagchi Calls ‘Phata Patakha’ From ‘Nayyi Navelli’ a High-Energy, Larger-Than-Life Track

Mumbai — The makers of “Nayyi Navelli” unveiled the film’s new song “Phata Patakha” on Tuesday, with singer Madhubanti Bagchi describing the track as a playful, high-energy number with a larger-than-life feel.
“Phata Patakha is pure, uninhibited madness packed with humour and incredible energy,” Bagchi said in a statement. “Recording it was an absolute blast because the track is just so larger-than-life with that playful, high-octane edge.”
She said the collaboration between composer G. V. Prakash Kumar and lyricist Vayu made the song one of the most exciting tracks she has recorded.
“I can’t wait to see people dancing to it!” she added.
Composed and produced by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with lyrics by Vayu and vocals by Bagchi, the song features Yami Gautam Dhar at the center of an unusual zombie dance party. The choreography is by Vijay Ganguly.
Prakash said the track gave the team an opportunity to experiment with an unconventional musical style while reflecting the film’s eccentric tone.
“The idea was to take the eccentricity of ‘Nayyi Navelli’ and translate it into a track that feels instantly celebratory,” he said.
“I wanted the composition to have a strong hook and an energy that stays with you, while still retaining the quirky character of the film. Vayu’s lyrics and Madhubanti’s vocals brought exactly the playful, uninhibited quality the song needed, and Yami’s performance takes that energy to another level.”
With upbeat rhythms, a catchy hook and elaborate choreography, “Phata Patakha” gives the film’s fantasy setting a musical twist by turning its undead characters into part of the celebration.
“Nayyi Navelli” stars Yami Gautam Dhar in the lead and is billed as a fantasy family entertainer.
Directed by Balaji Mohan and written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, the film also stars Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee, Prateek Pachori, Akshat Singh, Babita Pandey, Ajay Pal and Neeraj Singh.
The film is produced by Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma, with music by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
“Nayyi Navelli” is scheduled to hit theaters on October 16. (Source: IANS)
