Amaal Mallik Shares Hospital Photo After Announcing Break From Film Music
Mumbai — Singer-composer Amaal Mallik has shared a photo from a hospital bed shortly after announcing that he is taking a break from film music to focus on his health and recovery.
Mallik posted the hospital photo on social media, showing him seated on a bed wearing a white T-shirt and a blue Superman cap.
“Too much Awarapan leads to this only,” he wrote alongside the image.
The post came after Mallik announced Thursday that he would step away from film music until next year, saying he needed time to focus on his “mind, body, soul and overall physical healing.”
“I am all good & I will go all the way in, this time, to do what is best for me & only do what is important to my heart & for my health,” Mallik wrote on X.
He said he hoped to return after recuperating with new music for his fans.
“Need to rise, recuperate and bounce back soon with a heart full of melodies for you all my dearest #Amaalians,” he added.
Mallik also said he would not take on any new film music projects until next year, although previously recorded songs from unreleased films could still be released.
He asked fans not to press him for updates about those projects, noting that some were tied to smaller-budget films whose release plans remained uncertain.
“Music se cinema tak ka safar mujhe bohot door le aaya hai, ab music ki taraf wapas chalne laga hoon,” he wrote, roughly saying that his journey from music to cinema had taken him far and that he was now returning toward music.
Mallik’s decision comes after months of public comments about difficulties he says he has faced in the Hindi film music industry.
In May, he alleged that influential figures had blocked him from working on several films and said he had received threats after speaking publicly about how the industry operates.
He was also involved in a public dispute with composer-singer Tanishk Bagchi in July, accusing him in a series of social media posts of copying songs, using paid publicity and taking credit for work allegedly created by others.
Mallik later deleted the posts but said their removal did not mean he was retracting the allegations.
