Salim Merchant Marks 30 Years of Friendship With Sonu Nigam and Shaan

Mumbai — Composer and singer Salim Merchant celebrated three decades of friendship with fellow musicians Sonu Nigam and Shaan, sharing a nostalgic photo that highlighted the bond they have maintained over the years.
Merchant posted the picture jointly with his brother and longtime musical collaborator Sulaiman Merchant. The image featured Salim, Sulaiman, Nigam, Shaan and several other friends from the music industry posing together and sharing a lighthearted moment.
“30 years of friendship. Through every high, every low, every laugh and every crazy moment… we’re still here, still together, still laughing like we’re 25. Here’s to three decades of friendship and to all the stories we’re yet to write,” Salim wrote in the caption.
Salim and Sulaiman Merchant have composed music for more than 100 films, including Chak De! India, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Kurbaan, Fashion, Aaja Nachle and Band Baaja Baaraat.
The duo has also collaborated extensively with Nigam on songs such as “Ishq Hua” from Aaja Nachle, “Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte” from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, “Shukran Allah” from Kurbaan, “Rab Rakha” from Love Breakups Zindagi and “Kulfi” from 102 Not Out.
Among their best-known collaborations with Shaan is “Hey Shona” from Ta Ra Rum Pum, which also featured singer Sunidhi Chauhan. (Source: IANS)
