Anu Malik Recalls Working With Hema Malini After Receiving Honor

Mumbai — Music composer Anu Malik expressed his gratitude after being felicitated by veteran actress and politician Hema Malini, recalling their work together on three films.

Malik shared photographs of the award ceremony on Instagram and described receiving the honor from Hema as a special moment.

“What an honour it is to be felicitated by the one and only, the legendary Hema Malini Ji,” he wrote.

“I also had the privilege of working with her in three films…MARG, Aawargi, and Ek Chadar Maili Si. Those memories will always remain close to my heart. Thank you so much, Hema Ji, for your grace, your kindness, and everything you’ve given to Indian cinema. It truly means the world to me. Forever grateful,” he added.

“Maarg,” directed by Mahesh Bhatt and released in 1992, starred Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini and Dimple Kapadia. The film follows a relationship between Aarti, a religious woman, and Suraj, a reformed criminal seeking redemption.

“Ek Chadar Maili Si,” released in 1986, was directed by Sukhwant Dhadda and adapted from Rajinder Singh Bedi’s Urdu novella of the same name. The film starred Hema Malini, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rishi Kapoor and Poonam Dhillon.

The story centers on Rani, whose life changes after her husband is killed and she is pressured to marry her brother-in-law.

Malik is known for composing popular songs from films including “Baadshah,” “Main Hoon Na,” “Refugee,” “Yaadein” and “Baazigar.” (Source: IANS)
