Kriti Kharbanda Says Social Media Pressure Is Leaving People Drained
Mumbai — Kriti Kharbanda has spoken out about the pressure of maintaining a social media presence, saying it is leaving many people emotionally, physically and mentally exhausted.
In a recent Instagram post, the actress said she had met several people who felt drained by the constant need to stay active online. She said many of them had big dreams and the determination to pursue them, but felt social media was getting in the way.
Kriti said the pressure to post regularly, share personal details and keep up appearances has made some people feel less “appealing” if they choose to protect their privacy.
“The constant comparisons, the need to stay active and put things up for the heck of it,” she wrote, adding that some people did not want to let others into their personal lives.
The “Pagalpanti” actress said social media should be seen as only one part of life, not a measure of someone’s worth.
“So let’s normalise not wanting to share and letting people in. Protecting your peace. And stop deciding people’s worth based on social media,” she wrote.
Kriti ended her note by saying many people may be feeling the same way and reminded them that they are “not alone.”

The actress said bringing the film to life was not easy. She joined the project shortly after finishing another shoot and quickly began an intense schedule in Chandigarh’s cold winter weather.
“What I remember most about ‘Momacu’ is not the cold, but the spirit with which everyone came to work every day. We were shooting through some really chilly nights, often for long hours, but there was so much excitement around the story that nobody let the weather dampen the mood. Looking back, those difficult nights have become some of my favourite memories from the film,” Apoorva said.
She said the team’s welcoming atmosphere helped her settle into the role despite joining at the last minute.
“At the time, all of us were focused on telling the story as honestly as possible. You don’t really think about how people will react once the film releases. That’s why the appreciation feels so special now. When viewers reach out and say they loved my character, it takes me right back to those nights on set and reminds me why we do what we do,” she added.
Directed by Kuldeep Kunal, “Momacu” stars Jatin Sarna, Tushar Dutt, Gourav Sharma and Apoorva Arora. The film follows three men who steal an ATM on a freezing winter night in rural Haryana, only to see mistrust and chaos destroy their desperate plan.
