Song ‘Chhaap Tilak’ from ‘Ginny Wedss Sunny 2’ unveiled ahead of film’s release
Mumbai — The makers of the upcoming film “Ginny Wedss Sunny 2” on Friday released the song “Chhaap Tilak,” a track that blends traditional musical influences with contemporary beats.
The music video features the film’s lead actors Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr along with rapper Paradox. Tiwary said the song plays an important role in setting the tone for the film’s narrative.
“Music sets a huge tone for a movie’s storytelling. ‘Chhaap Tilak’ does exactly that for our film. I hope it makes it to everyone’s playlist in the way it has made to mine. You’d want to dance when you hear it,” Tiwary said.
The track marks the Bollywood debut of singer and composer Heer, who collaborated with composer Amaan Noor on the music. Noor also wrote the lyrics. Rapper Paradox adds a contemporary element to the song with his rap performance.
The composition aims to blend traditional influences with modern production, creating a high-energy track designed for celebrations such as weddings and festive gatherings.
Actor Medha Shankr said the song carries a special significance as the first release from the film’s soundtrack.
“I am thrilled for everyone to finally experience Chhaap Tilak. Being the first song of the film, it carries a very special energy, and I can’t stop grooving to it myself. What Heer and Amaan have created is a total vibe and with Paradox’s voice for the Rap, I’m confident it will be the definitive dance track of the season,” Shankr said.
The title “Chhaap Tilak” references a famous Sufi devotional composition traditionally attributed to the 13th-century poet and musician Amir Khusrau. Written in Hindavi with Persian influences, the poem reflects themes of spiritual devotion and mystical love.
Singer and composer Heer described the project as a milestone in her career.
“Composing and singing ‘Chhaap Tilak’ was about finding that perfect balance between soul and the dance floor. This is my first Bollywood song, and I am supremely excited. Collaborating with Amaan Noor on the music and having Paradox elevate the track with his voice for the rap, made this a dream debut for me,” she said.
Paradox said he wanted to bring a fresh energy to the classic theme.
“I wanted to bring something unexpected to this classic. The energy on this track is groovy. It’s going to be a massive one for the festive season,” he said.
