MUMBAI — Music legend A. R. Rahman has unveiled the second track from Aanand L. Rai’s upcoming drama Tere Ishk Mein, revealing that the song Usey Kehna was inspired by the breathtaking scenery of the Ganges and the surrounding mountains in Himachal Pradesh.
Following the release of the film’s title track, Usey Kehna brings a meditative and emotional tone to the soundtrack, featuring vocals by Nitesh Aher and Jonita Gandhi with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. The composition is an intimate blend of piano, strings, and soft instrumentation—hallmarks of Rahman’s signature sound.
“This next song, Usey Kehna, was inspired from when we travelled to Himachal and witnessed the reflection of the mountains in the Ganges,” Rahman said. “Everything around inspired the creation of the melody, influencing our team—Aanand L. Rai, Irshad Kamil, Himanshu—and it evolved into something minimal yet full of emotion. I hope people enjoy it and feel the same way we felt creating it.”
Director Aanand L. Rai praised Rahman’s creative genius, calling the experience of working with him “pure magic.” “Music is the strongest form of magic, and I’ve had the privilege to watch the greatest magician create it up close—the one and only A. R. Rahman. Usey Kehna is another gem, straight from our hearts,” he said.
Producer Bhushan Kumar described the song as an emotional cornerstone of the film. “Usey Kehna brings out the unspoken emotions that lie at the heart of Tere Ishk Mein. It’s a song about love that is constant, raw, and deeply human. With Rahman’s soulful composition, Irshad Kamil’s heartfelt lyrics, and Aanand L. Rai’s storytelling, this track beautifully carries the film’s emotional core,” he said.
Produced by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow, Tere Ishk Mein is directed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. The film stars Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in lead roles and will release theatrically in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on November 28. (Source: IANS)
