Kareena Kapoor: Celebrations are always brighter with Bappa’s blessings

MUMBAI– Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor welcomed Ganesh Chaturthi with a heartfelt message to fans, saying that “celebrations are always brighter with Bappa’s blessings.”

The actress took to Instagram to share a photo of Lord Ganesha’s idol decked in flowers, sending festive wishes on the day India marked the birth of the remover of obstacles and bringer of prosperity.

Just last week, Kareena made headlines for calling husband Saif Ali Khan a “lion” in a special birthday post. The power couple, married since 2012, share two sons.

On the film front, Kareena was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s 2024 blockbuster Singham Again, while Saif is currently in Kochi shooting Haiwaan with Akshay Kumar — their first reunion on screen in 17 years.

For Kareena, though, today was all about faith and festivity — and a reminder that Bappa’s blessings make every celebration shine brighter.

Ananya Panday says ‘Gehraiyaan’ changed everything for her

MUMBAI– Ananya Panday says her 2022 drama Gehraiyaan wasn’t just another film — it transformed her as a person and an actor.

The 26-year-old star revealed that playing Tia forced her into deep self-reflection. “Gehraiyaan really changed a lot for me. It pushed me to explore emotions I hadn’t tapped into before, both as an actor and personally,” she said.

Known for her bubbly persona, Ananya admitted Tia’s quiet intensity was the opposite of her real life. “It was such an internal, nuanced role. I learned stillness, silence, and restraint — things very different from how I actually am!” she added.

Directed by Shakun Batra, the film also starred Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa, and tackled infidelity, ambition, and messy modern relationships.

Now, Ananya is moving on to lighter love stories. She will be seen in Chand Mera Dil and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, reuniting with Kartik Aaryan after their 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh. The latter is slated for a Valentine’s week release next year.

From soul-searching in Gehraiyaan to back-to-back romances, Ananya Panday seems set on proving she can do it all.

Sonakshi Sinha, Zaheer Iqbal live their ‘DDLJ’ moment in Switzerland

MUMBAI– Newlyweds Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are giving fans major Bollywood nostalgia on their Swiss getaway. The couple, who tied the knot in June 2024, recreated Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge moment while cruising

through the Alps.

In a video shared on social media, Sonakshi and Zaheer can be seen goofing around and lip-syncing to Ho Gaya Hai Tujhko To Pyaar Sajna — shot on the very same roads nearly three decades ago. The scenic backdrop of the Swiss Alps only added to the magic.

Sonakshi, who’s been documenting the trip for fans, also revealed that Zaheer’s parents are along for the ride. From detours to the French Alps and Chamonix to cable car rides near Mont Blanc, the actress has been serving travel-blogger vibes — even joking that a crowded lift ride felt like a “local train situation.”

Between paragliding, sipping cocktails, and digging into gelato, the duo has been living it up and keeping followers hooked with dreamy glimpses of their travels.

The couple, known for their love of globe-trotting, has already ticked off several countries together — but this Swiss DDLJ-style moment might just be their most filmy yet.

flooding Instagram with breathtaking views, chic fashion, and a dose of adventure.

From cable car rides over rolling hills to sailing across crystal-clear waters, Karishma’s vacation looks straight out of a postcard. She’s also been indulging in local delicacies while serving major fashion goals. In one set of photos from Dubrovnik, she rocked a beige camisole with khaki shorts, strappy wedges, and sleek accessories — a look fans quickly dubbed “on fleek.”

The comments poured in with praise like “radiating confidence” and “absolutely killing it,” cementing her status as a travel and style inspiration.

On the career front, Karishma recently won acclaim for her powerful performance as journalist Jagruti Pathak in Hansal Mehta’s Scoop. But for now, it’s all about sunshine, sea breezes, and picture-perfect moments with her husband on their dreamy Croatian escape.

Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza speak out on devastating J&K floods

MUMBAI– As flash floods wreak havoc across Jammu and Kashmir, Bollywood stars Bhumi Pednekar and Dia Mirza have raised their voices in concern.

Bhumi, sharing a stark image of the deluge on Instagram, wrote: “Praying for everyone in all the flood-hit areas,” while warning that the next 24 hours remain critical.

Dia Mirza, meanwhile, posted a chilling video of a road swallowed by the raging river and called out reckless human interference with nature. “First Himachal, Uttarakhand and now Jammu and Kashmir… will this shake up the conscience of those destroying every system in nature that ensures balance? On the highway to man-made hell,” she wrote.

The disaster has already claimed at least 30 lives in a Vaishno Devi landslide, with telecom networks down across large parts of the Union Territory. Over 3,500 residents have been rescued as the Army, NDRF, SDRF and local volunteers scramble to restore order and provide relief.

The floods come just weeks after similar devastation in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, underscoring how the Western Himalayas — warming faster than the rest of India — are now more vulnerable than ever to extreme rainfall and deadly cloudbursts.

Shilpa Shetty skips Ganesh Chaturthi, says home feels “incomplete” without Bappa

MUMBAI– Shilpa Shetty, who is known for her grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations every year, has decided not to bring Ganpati home this time — and says the absence is deeply felt.

Shilpa Shetty

The actress posted a nostalgic reel on Instagram, featuring precious moments from past celebrations with husband Raj Kundra, sister Shamita, their kids, and her mother. “Home feels incomplete without you this year, but the heart is full of your blessings. Ganpati Bappa Morya, pudchya varshi lavkar ya,” she wrote.

Shilpa revealed on August 25 that the Kundra family is mourning a bereavement and will therefore refrain from festivities this year. In a statement, she explained they would be observing a 13-day mourning period, asking for friends’ “understanding and prayers.”

While devotees across India welcomed Lord Ganesha this week, Shilpa chose to honor the tradition quietly, leaning on memories and gratitude instead of rituals.

On the work front, she was last seen in Sukhee and will next appear in Kannada action drama KD: The Devil alongside Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, and Nora Fatehi.

Neha Dhupia, Angad Bedi finally take their “first honeymoon” after 8 years

MUMBAI– Better late than never! Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi have finally jetted off on their very first honeymoon — a whole eight years after tying the knot.

Neha Dhupia

The actress, who is ringing in her birthday in Rome and Florence, shared that the couple decided to turn the trip into something extra special. “We’ve gone official on our first honeymoon with Angad after 8 years of marriage,” Neha revealed.

The couple, who wed in 2018 in a private Gurudwara ceremony, are now parents to daughter Mehr and son Guriq. Between parenting duties and busy careers, a honeymoon never happened — until now.

“For this birthday, I’m manifesting good health, success, and precious family time. Career-wise, I’m looking forward to the coming year, which is going to be a busy one,” Neha added.

On screen, Neha was last seen in Bad Newz, while Angad appeared in the Telugu hit Hi Nanna alongside Mrunal Thakur and Nani. But for now, the actors are soaking in la dolce vita — proving that some honeymoons are worth the wait. (Soruce: IANS)
