Mumbai– The trailer for the upcoming streaming series Sena – Guardians of the Nation was unveiled on Monday, offering a compelling look into the life of a soldier who chooses duty over personal comfort, navigating both external threats and inner turmoil.

The five-episode series follows the journey of Kartik Sharma, a promising young man who turns down a lucrative career opportunity in California to pursue his dream of serving in the Indian Armed Forces. His decision causes a rift with his father, but also sets him on a transformative path of sacrifice, resilience, and redemption.

The story charts Kartik’s grueling journey through the Armed Forces Academy selection process, followed by his first posting in the tense and volatile region of Kashmir. When a mission goes awry and he is captured by militants, what begins as an act of service turns into a harrowing test of survival, trust, and identity. Told through a non-linear narrative, the series blends emotional depth with the intensity of military life.

Vikram Singh Chauhan takes on the lead role, supported by a talented ensemble cast including Yashpal Sharma, Shirley Setia, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Rahul Tewari, Vijay Vikram Singh, Anupam Bhattacharya, Neelu Dogra, and creators Funcho.

Speaking about his role, Chauhan said:

“Kartik is someone who walks away from comfort, family, and familiarity to pursue something greater — a sense of purpose. Portraying him was both emotional and humbling. True courage, I’ve come to learn, isn’t loud. It’s quiet, persistent, and deeply rooted. I hope this series stirs something in viewers — a moment of reflection, pride, or even a tear.”

Featuring Real-Life Heroes

What sets Sena – Guardians of the Nation apart is its integration of real army veterans into the narrative, lending authenticity and gravitas to the story. Featured veterans include:

Lucky Bisht – Former spy, sniper, and NSG commando

Col Rajeev Bharwan (Mumma Sir)

Lt Col Kaushalendra Singh, SM

Lt Col Paishal Manocha

Col RK Sharma, recipient of the Kirti Chakra, Shaurya Chakra, and Sena Medal (Gallantry)

Wing Commander Urvashi Rohilla, Indian Air Force

Creative Vision

Writer and creator Anandeshwar Dwivedi, who also plays a key role in the series, reflected on the project:

“Creating Sena – Guardians of the Nation with some of the most creative minds in the country has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. This is not just a story about soldiers or war — it’s about fathers and sons, pride and pain, the emotional cost of service. As a showrunner, I feel deeply honoured to bring this story to life.”

Directed by Abhinav Anand and produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), Sena – Guardians of the Nation will begin streaming on Amazon MX Player from August 13. (Source: IANS)
