Kolkata– Pritam Majumdar, the son of Rinku Majumdar—newly married to senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh—was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his New Town residence in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Pritam was Rinku Majumdar’s son from her previous marriage. According to police sources, his body was initially taken to a private hospital in New Town before being referred to Bidhannagar Sub-divisional Hospital, where he was declared dead.
His remains were then transported to R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which is expected to be completed by Tuesday. Cremation is scheduled for the evening at Nimtala crematorium in Kolkata.
While the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report is released, initial assessments suggest a possible overdose of medication. Police have learned that Pritam had been on several medications for pre-existing health conditions.
Neither Dilip Ghosh—former National Vice President of the BJP and former West Bengal state president—nor Rinku Majumdar has commented publicly on the incident as of this report.
Pritam, who worked in the Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS) sector, was employed at a company in Salt Lake’s Sector V, close to his home. Though he expressed support for his mother’s recent marriage last month, he did not attend the ceremony, citing time away from Kolkata. (Source: IANS)
