The event was hosted by Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare CEO Eric H. Schultz and his senior management team, and was attended by over 50 Indian entrepreneurs and business leaders. The event was organized by INE MultiMedia, a non-profit organization which was selected earlier this year by Harvard Pilgrim as its “Count Us In Community Partner.”

“Harvard Pilgrim has made a huge impact in our community and it was our pleasure to introduce the Indian business leaders to the senior management team of the nation’s top rated health services company,” said Dr. Manju Sheth, MD, president of INE MultiMedia. “As a non-profit organization ourselves, we are very grateful to Harvard Pilgrim for supporting some of our signature projects such as Health Expos, a classical music program and the launch of Dreamcatchers show.”

Brenda Cole, Vice President of Marketplace Inclusion Development at Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare, said  the purpose of the event was to get to know HPHC’s existing and potential customers better, to continue building the bridge of collaboration, and to identify opportunities to better service South Asian and Indian communities with products and services specific to their needs.

“Part of our strategy in recognizing these specific needs resulted in the development of our Eastern Harmony Program which offers many alternative medicines, and to further show our commitment to a more holistic approach to health and wellness, we now offer Acupuncture as a standard medical benefit in most of our fully insured medical plans,” Cole said.  “This has been a huge differentiator for us in the marketplace.”

Cole said that Harvard Pilgrim has partnered with a company that enables her organization to offer temporary medical coverage for family and friends visiting from outside of the country.

“Now you can have the assurance that your loved ones are covered for any urgent or emergency care that may arise,” Cole
