Fidelity Executive Alok Kapoor Joins Boston Partners in Education Board

BOSTON – Boston Partners in Education, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students in the Boston Public Schools (BPS) through in-classroom academic mentoring services, announced that Alok Kapoor has joined its board.

Kapoor is the Executive Vice President of Enterprise Infrastructure for Fidelity Investments, a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, brokerage, and other financial products.  Prior to joining Fidelity Investment, Kapoor acted as managing director and chief technology officer of global technology services for Merrill Lynch.  He began his 13- year tenure with Merrill Lynch in 1995 as part of the Systems & Network Management Team.

“I am honored to be a part of this organization because I believe every child deserves a positive role model and the opportunity to exceed academically,” said Kapoor.  “I’m proud to be part of an organization that connects the community to the classroom and fills a critical need within the Boston Public School system.”

A Milton resident, Kapoor received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He sits on the Board of Wall Street Technology Association and holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Boston Partners’ 28-member board plays a vital role in the success of the organization by providing critical guidance, ideas, and financial support, and by serving as ambassadors in the community.
