Akshay’s mother passes away: He says ‘she was my core’

Mumbai– Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia passed away on Wednesday morning.

Akshay took to Twitter to express his grief.

“She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence,” he wrote.

The 53-year-old star said that his mother passed away peacefully.

“My maa… Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti,” he wrote.

On Tuesday, Akshay had shared a health update about his mother and said that it was a “tough hour” for his family.

“Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough hour for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help,” he wrote on Twitter.

Mallika: Never thought anyone could mimic me so well, but Sugandha just nailed it

Mumbai– Actress Mallika Sherawat will be seen as the special guest on the ‘Zee Comedy Show’ during this Saturday’s episode while Mika Singh judges the show.

Sugandha Mishra Bhosle and Gaurav Dubey’s hilarious act made Mallika literally laugh out loud. While Gaurav flawlessly enacted Sooraj Barjatya, Sugandha delivered a stunning mimicry of Mallika that left the latter thoroughly impressed with her performance. In fact, Mallika was so thrilled by what she saw, she felt that the comedian was a mirror image of herself during the act.

As Mallika revealed: “Sugandha imitated me so well, it was just perfect. I am truly like that only! She aced the nuances, the expressions, everything. I never thought someone could mimic me so well, but Sugandha totally nailed it and I can never forget this one (the act).”

Reacting to her compliment, an ecstatic Sugandha said, “I would really like to thank Mallika ji for being a sport. I was really scared initially. When I was told about this act, I was really sceptical as I didn’t know how to mimic her at all, but they convinced me and thankfully it went well, and it was well appreciated.”

Renuka Shahane to host ‘Crime Patrol Satark: Gumraah Bachpan’

Mumbai– Renowned television and film actress Renuka Shahane will now be seen anchoring ‘Crime Patrol Satark: Gumraah Bachpan’.

As an anchor, Renuka will be seen restating the warning indicators as well as the thought process that a teenager experiences leading to inevitable crimes. The episodes will focus on presenting situations that teach parents how to recognise certain cautionary signs, inform and educate their children, and assist them proactively.

Confirming her association with the show, Renuka shared: “It is my pleasure to be a part of a show like ‘Crime Patrol’. According to me, a show like this not just helps in educating the society but serves as a ready reckoner in making people aware of their surroundings.”

Renuka will aim to bring forward the earnest fears of every parent and the warning signs as she sheds light on the crimes committed by teenagers.

“As an anchor and a mother of two children, my only intent is to encourage people to understand what goes on in the minds of the teenagers and what are the telltale signs that can be timely addressed,” she adds.

‘Crime Patrol Satark: Gumraah Bachpan’ will air starting from September 13 on Sony Entertainment Television.

Paridhi finds parallels between her real and reel lives

Mumbai– Actress Paridhi Sharma, who plays the role of a mother in ‘Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei’, says juggling personal and professional lives is by no means an easy task for any actor but she tries to manage it well by spending quality time with her son.

Paridhi said: “As a working mother instead of dwelling on the guilt of missing quantity time with your child, I believe spending quality time with your child is more vital. Every day after packing up, once I reach home, I make sure to spend good, happy ‘us’ time with my son and it feels magical.”

“However tired I may be, the motherly instinct in me boosts my energy and we do a lot of fun stuff together! I maintain a good work and personal life balance and am completely involved and dedicated to my child as a dutiful mother. I take him to forests, gardens, beaches, for playing in mud, sand and insects. I will make sure he gets enough exposure to nature.”

Manushi Chhillar initiates social media campaign on need to eat right

Mumbai– Bollywood debutante and former beauty queen Manushi Chhillar has launched a social media campaign to discuss the benefits of eating right during this World Nutrition Week.

Manushi, who won the Miss World crown 17 years after Priyanka Chopra won it for India, has joined hands with Miss World 2014, Rolene Strauss, to share their thoughts on how paying attention to nutrition can help everyone lead a balanced lifestyle.

Manushi said: “As I have grown up, I have realised the need to pay attention to nutrition. Our daily life throws up innumerable challenges and the least we can do to take care of ourselves is to pay attention to what we eat.”

“Nutrition is the main pillar of fitness and wellness and I have tried to incorporate as much of this learning into my daily life. I have unlocked the results that I have aimed for and I want to share my thoughts to as many people as possible,” she added.

Manushi shared that nutrition is extremely subjective and that one has to customise their own diet regime to get maximum benefits.

“I have always maintained that health and fitness is very personal and everyone has their subjective take on the same. Nutrition is highly customisable depending on an individual’s health and history and I respect that.”

She added: “This is why, I’m discussing how nutrition can be tailor made for different individuals with Miss World 2014, Rolene Strauss, who is not just a dear friend but also someone who is deeply invested in nutrition and health.”

Manushi, who will be seen sharing screen space with actor Akshay Kumar in the period film ‘Prithviraj’, said Strauss is someone she could count on.

She shared: “I can’t wait to discuss our individual learnings about nutrition and hope that it will resonate with people who want to lead a balanced lifestyle.”

Ayushmann Khurrana: Fortunate to finish three new films amid pandemic

Mumbai– Actor Ayushmann Khurrana feels fortunate to have finished shooting for his three films – ‘Anek’, ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ and ‘Doctor G’ – amid the pandemic. He says these films trigger community conversations and it is important they are screened in theatres.

Ayushmann says, “I’m fortunate to have managed to finish three new films in the pandemic. I can’t wait for audiences to watch these real gems as they are diverse and disruptive and will give people a new viewing experience to discuss and debate.”

Ayushmann is confident that his projects will play a hand in bringing people back to the theatres.

He says: “I’m hugely excited about ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’, ‘Anek’ and now ‘Doctor Ga’ – all the projects are high concept theatrical films because of the uniqueness of scripts. I hope they will all contribute towards bringing people back to the theatres.

Ayushmann added: “Films like these trigger community conversations about important issues and it is imperative that such films have a community watching experience which can only happen in a theatre.”

The star credits all the filmmakers of his projects for providing a safe shooting experience to everyone.
