BOSTON–Aayi Diwali, produced by Juju Productions and sung by Indian American singer Anuradha Palakurthi, is a global virtual production that involved a number of players and artists and technical experts from Boston to Bombay (now Mumbai.)
Virtual production from anywhere in the world is an emerging technology that uses a set of software, video and audio tools to integrate photos, graphics and live-action footage in real time.
For the first time all the Aayi Diwali players and artists gather on INDIA New England News’ Face-to-Face to share their experiences in the composition of this video that was shot, mixed, edited and produced in about two weeks—everyone working virtually and remotely on their own segments.

The video, which was viewed by more than 1.7 million viewers and over 5,000 comments within a week, celebrates Diwali, the Indian festival of lights that observes victory of light over darkness. The brings optimism, hope and joy with the next generation through the composition of Ms. Palakurthi’s teacher, Arati Ankalikar.
Music producer Ishaan Chhabra brings home the video’s universality though contributions from three continents – and a brilliant combination of Raag Bilawal with strings from Budapest. The video shows Bollywood actress of yester years Poonam Dhillon’s joyful celebration with children in Mumbai, and Ms. Palakurthi with her students in New Hampshire, a tribute to the Gurukul method of learning, according to producers of the video.
Ms. Palakurthi is known for her Versatility, as no genre is beyond her vocal range be it a Film Songs, Classical, Bhajan, Sufi, Ghazal, and Pop.
