TEAM Aid Hosts Boston Gathering to Strengthen Ties Between Indian Consulate and Diaspora

BOSTON— TEAM Aid hosted a large community gathering in Greater Boston aimed at strengthening collaboration between the newly-opened Indian Consulate in Boston and diaspora organizations across New England.
The event brought together more than 250 attendees, including representatives from 66 Indian diaspora groups, along with senior diplomatic officials from the newly established Consulate General of India in Boston.
Among those in attendance were Consul General Raghuram S, Deputy Consul General Shruthi Prabhakar, Jag Mohan from the Embassy of India in Washington, D.C., and Prem Bhandari.
In his remarks, TEAM Aid Founder and President Mohan Nannapaneni emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among governments, consulates, airlines, and community organizations to support individuals and families during crises. He said the gathering was designed to deepen partnerships with the Boston consulate and improve services for the Indian diaspora.
TEAM Aid, founded in 2017, has supported more than 5,000 families across over 25 countries and coordinates repatriation services and humanitarian assistance through a global volunteer network.
Deputy Consul General Prabhakar outlined the consulate’s services, while Jag Mohan highlighted the role of diaspora collaboration in strengthening community support systems.
During the event, TEAM Aid announced the appointment of Prem Bhandari as its honorary chairman, recognizing his contributions to humanitarian work and advocacy.
Consul General Raghuram S reaffirmed the consulate’s commitment to providing accessible and responsive services to the community throughout the year.
Organizers said the event highlighted a shared commitment to collaboration, community engagement, and humanitarian service among diaspora leaders and diplomatic representatives.
