Sonu Nigam shares lighthearted musical moment with father during car jam session
MUMBAI, India — Singer Sonu Nigam gave fans a glimpse into a personal musical moment, sharing a video of an impromptu jam session with his father, Agam Kumar Nigam, while traveling in a car.
The video, posted on Nigam’s Instagram account Wednesday, shows the singer practicing his vocals, or doing riyaz, accompanied by a harmonium. His father, also a well-known singer, joins him, turning the journey into a spontaneous father-son performance.
In the clip, the duo performs a rendition of “Yeh Desh Hai Veer Jawanon Ka,” a classic song from the 1957 film “Naya Daur,” which starred Dilip Kumar and Vyjayantimala.
Nigam is known for frequently sharing such candid moments from both his personal and professional life with fans.
In a recent instance, the singer ran into actress Divya Dutta during a flight, turning the chance meeting into a musical exchange. Dutta later shared a selfie of the two on social media, writing, “Wen u bump into your bestie..on flight..journey musical ho jati hai.hai na??? Big hug @sonunigamofficial.”
Over the course of his career, Nigam has recorded more than 6,000 songs across more than 30 languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and English, among others. In addition to playback singing, he has released several independent albums and has also appeared in a handful of films.
