Pooja Hegde shoots for ‘Suriya 44’ in Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Mumbai– Actress Pooja Hegde is currently busy shooting for the tentatively titled film ‘Suriya 44’ in the picturesque locale of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

A source told IANS: “Pooja went to Andaman and Nicobar in early June to shoot and is expected to return in the first week of July. She will be shooting a major part of the schedule there.”

The actress will be seen as the leading lady in Suriya’s film, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. It also stars Jayaram, Joju George and Karunakaran among others in a pivotal role.

“Pooja plays the female lead in the film that takes the story ahead and will be seen in a very different look as well,” the source said.

The soundtrack for the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who has given music for films such as ‘Pizza’, ‘Jigarthanda’, ‘Iruthi Suttru’, ‘Saala Khadoos’, ‘Iraivi’, ‘Gulu Gulu’ and ‘Anweshippin Kandethum’. He has also worked in the upcoming film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.

In addition to ‘Suriya 44’, Pooja is set to star alongside Shahid Kapoor in ‘Deva’ and with Ahan Shetty in ‘Sanki’. Apart from this, she also has a three-film deal with a major production house in the South.

It was in 2012 when Pooja made her acting debut in Mysskin’s Tamil superhero film ‘Mugamoodi’ starring Jiiva. She then featured in the Telugu film ‘Oka Laila Kosam’. In 2014, the 33-year-old actress stepped into Bollywood with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’, based on the Indus Valley civilisation.

In 2021, the actress was named in the seventh position on Forbes India’s Most Influential Stars on Instagram in South Cinema.

The actress was last seen in ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ starring Salman Khan. It also features Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal and Palak Tiwari to name a few.

Tina Datta: Yoga has made me physically fitter, mentally stronger

Mumbai– As the world celebrates International Yoga Day on Friday, actress Tina Datta said that yoga has been a game-changer for her as she has become physically fitter and mentally stronger.

The initiative for “Yoga Day” was taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his 2014 United Nations address. After which, the International Day of Yoga has been celebrated since 2015.

On the tenth year of International Yoga Day, Tina said: “I started practicing yoga during the lockdown, and my love for it just keeps growing. Yoga has been a game-changer for me in many ways. Physically, it has made me fitter, and mentally, it has made me stronger.”

She shared: “Not many know that I used to get sick really easily. I would wake up with a cold, fever, or chills randomly without any reason. But ever since I started doing yoga, I don’t remember the last time I had a common cold, fever, or cough.”

The actress, who gained the spotlight by playing Ichcha in the TV show “Uttaran”, shared that her journey with yoga commenced as a way to stay active during the lockdown, however, it quickly became a daily routine.

“At first, it was just a way to pass the time and stay healthy when gyms were closed. But soon, I realised that yoga was more than physical exercise. It became a holistic practice that benefited both my body and mind,” she said.

“It is soul-refreshing and cleanses your mind, body, and soul completely. There’s less negativity in life, and you get to see things from a different, more positive perspective. There’s more clarity when negative thoughts do not surround you, and that’s what yoga helps you attain. There’s nothing like yoga for me. I swear by it,” she said.

The actress shared how yoga has brought a sense of balance to her erratic life.

“In an industry where stress and pressure are constant companions, yoga has been my sanctuary. It helps me stay grounded and calm, no matter what challenges come my way,” she added.

On the work front, Tina was seen in the show “Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum”. She was also seen in the 14th edition reality show “Bigg Boss” hosted by Salman Khan.

Nia Sharma ends up with blisters on her stomach while frying food on ‘Laughter Chefs’ sets

Mumbai– Actress Nia Sharma, who is currently putting her culinary skills to the test in the show ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment’ has accidentally hurt herself while frying food at her station.

Amid fast-paced culinary action, she bumped into one of the drawers, causing an injury. Rather than getting flustered or upset, Nia handled the situation with remarkable poise and calm. Without missing a beat, the actor took care of her injury right away, ensuring she could continue participating in the challenge and creating the dish assigned to her.

Recounting the incident, Nia said: “I think I’m a decent cook and I’m thrown off by minor cooking hazards. When a little bit of the oil splattered on me, I didn’t let it freak me out. But right after I bumped into one of the drawers. Despite these two incidents, all I wanted was to finish cooking and do it well.”

“I didn’t think much about it then, but later I saw it had left a little bit of a blister on my stomach. It’s just part of cooking– there are ups and downs, but they all add up to the fulfilling experience of preparing a dish,” she added.

‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment’ airs on Colors.

Nia is known for her work in shows like ‘Naagin 4’, ‘Jamai Raja’, ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’, ‘Behenein’, and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi: Made in India’.

Currently, the actress is featuring in the fantasy thriller romance ‘Suhagan Chudail’. The show also stars Debchandrima Singha Roy, and Zayn Ibad Khan in pivotal roles.

Saiyami Kher to star alongside Sunny Deol in Gopichand Malineni’s upcoming film

Mumbai– Actress Saiyami Kher will be seen starring alongside star Sunny Deol in Gopichand Malineni’s recently announced directorial, which is being touted as the “biggest action film of the country.”

Saiyami shared her enthusiasm about the project and said that she is beyond thrilled to be a part of the film, which is tentatively titled “SDGM”.

“Working with Sunny Deol, an icon of Indian cinema, is an incredible honour and a dream come true. After Ghoomer, this opportunity is a significant milestone in my career. Have waited to be a part of a proper commercial film,” Saiyami said.

She added: “And I’m glad I have gotten this opportunity. Gopichand Malineni’s vision for the film is truly very exciting. I can’t wait to start this journey and bring our story to life.”

The actress is grateful to the producers for believing in her and giving her a chance to showcase her abilities on such a “grand platform.”

The film was officially launched on June 20 in Hyderabad. The shooting is set to commence on June 22.

The production banner Mythri Movie Makers on Thursday took to X and announced the film, tentatively titled ‘SDGM’.

Gopichand Malineni, who primarily works in Telugu cinema, is known for films such as ‘Don Seenu’, ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Balupu’, ‘Pandaga Chesko’, ‘Winner’, and ‘Krack’.

New Delhi– As the world celebrates International Yoga Day on Friday, actress Shilpa Shetty heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he has played a pivotal role in bringing yoga to the global stage.

Talking about what she has to say about Prime Minister Modi’s role in taking yoga to the international level, Shilpa heaped praise on the iconic leader.

Shilpa told IANS: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a pivotal role in bringing yoga to the global stage. His efforts, including the establishment of International Yoga Day, have significantly increased worldwide awareness and appreciation of yoga’s benefits.

The International Day of Yoga was proposed by the United Nations in 2014. The initiative for “Yoga Day” was taken by Prime Minister Modi in his 2014 UN address.
