All for mom-in-law: Katrina had to ditch diet plans for paranthas at breakfast
Mumbai– Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif shared how her mother-in-law often forced her to have parathas but she has to deny being on a diet.
On ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, when the host asked Katrina if her diet has changes after marriage especially being part of a Punjabi family. The ‘Namastey London’ actress told him that she was often asked to have heavy diet but she refused because of her fitness regime.
She said: “Initially Mummy ji used to urge me a lot to have parathas and since I’m on a diet I couldn’t have it so I used to just have a bite. And, now that we have almost completed a year of our marriage, Mummy ji now prepares sweet potatoes for me.”
Katrina is coming along with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan to promote her film “Phone Bhoot” and she told about her shooting experience and revealed some interesting anecdotes. She also talked about her life post her marriage.

Sunny Leone learnt sign language for Vishnu Manchu-starrer ‘Ginna’
Mumbai– For actress Sunny Leone, it was an uphill task to work in the Vishnu Manchu-starrer film ‘Ginna’. In addition to the language being unfamiliar to her, she essays a deaf and mute woman in the film. The actress put in a lot of hard work to lend authenticity to her part in the film and not make it look like a caricaturist depiction of disabilities on screen.
The empathic portrayal of the character was of prime importance for Sunny. She trained in sign languages for a few weeks with an acting coach, before the film’s shoot began.
Revealing her process, Sunny said, “My coach and I sat and storyboarded the character’s graph. Along with the director and writer, we tried to understand the backstory. Then the real challenge of bringing a true-to-reality portrayal on screen. My coach helped me by providing several reading materials and videos for my understanding.”
It not only helped her crack the psyche of the character better but also gave her a peek into the minds of people who don’t have the luxury of voice and words.”
She further mentioned, “Rehearsal was key. So before every important scene, I rehearsed for an hour. Expressing through eyes was a key facet of nailing the character. I also learnt sign language which was important to fleshing out the character further. I would also like to thank Venkat Kona without which the same would not be possible”.
On the work front, the actress just completed the shoot of ‘Splitsvilla’ in Goa last week.
Kajol to tour through Indian cinema in ‘The Journey of India’
Mumbai– Bollywood actress Kajol will be seen transporting viewers to Bollywood’s captivating legacy against the backdrop of an actual film set in action in the upcoming episode of the hybrid show ‘The Journey of India’.
Through the eyes of acclaimed Indian directors and actors, the episode will take viewers on an exciting journey to celebrate the tradition of Indian cinema. The history of Indian cinema goes back more than a century – from Dadasaheb Phalke’s ‘Raja Harishchandra’ in 1913, first ever dream sequence of ‘Alam Ara’ – to awards on the world stage.
Talking about the upcoming episode, Kajol said, “It’s no secret that cinema is my first love. Films are more than an art form. It is a form of emotion – a way to express passion with innovation, driving audiences across diverse sectors to unite under the umbrella of spectacular storytelling. The series’ latest episode on the legacy of Indian cinema will premiere on October 31, on discovery+ and Discovery’s network of channels in India in 12 languages including English, Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Assamese, Oriya, Marathi, Punjabi and Gujarati.
Ranveer Singh to be feted with Etoile d’or at Marrakech Film Fest
Mumbai– Bollywood star Ranveer Singh will be honoured with Etoile d’or at the 19th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival, this year.
The festival will pay tribute to Ranveer Singh and will honour him with the title which has been previously received by the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.
Along with Ranveer, iconic Scottish actor Tilda Swinton, renowned US filmmaker James Gray and Moroccan film pioneer and director Farida Benlyazid will also receive this honour, in keeping with the festival’s tradition of celebrating cinema in all its diversity.
Reacting to the development, Ranveer said in a statement: “I’m deeply humbled and thrilled to be receiving a tribute which recognises my body of work along with this very, very special honour, the Etoile d’Or! The Marrakech International Film Festival is one of the most respected film events in the world, bringing together the best of cinema from across the world, especially Asia and Africa, which have universal appeal. Abhishek returns to kill as ‘J’ in ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows 2’
Mumbai– The trailer of the second season of the Abhishek Bachchan-starrer ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’ is packed with action and thrill.
The trailer gives a sneak peek of the upcoming season with Abhishek Bachchan’s character of ‘J’ returning to eliminate his remaining targets.
But, what makes the trailer interesting is the entry of a new character played by ‘Pitchers’ fame Naveen Kasturia. Naveen’s character is the one who brings out the darkness of Abhishek’s character of Avinash and is the reason the latter feels he overlaps with his split personality of J.
The trailer is generously peppered with high-octane action in the form of chase sequences and face-off as Kabir Sawant (played by Amit Sadh) goes all out to catch hold of J and his actions.
The second season of the psychological thriller will also see Nithya Menen, Saiyami Kher and child artiste Ivana Kaur reprising their roles.
Produced by Vikram Malhotra and Abundantia Entertainment, the eight-episode original series is co-created and directed by Mayank Sharma who also helmed the previous season.

Akshay Kumar smashes bricks at Kudo tournament
Mumbai– Action star Akshay Kumar attended a Kudo tournament, where he stunned all as he showcased his strength by breaking thick bricks with a hammer.
During Diwali celebrations, Akshay took out time for his annual Kudo tournament hosted in Surat, Gujarat.
He took to Instagram and shared a video wherein he was seen breaking bricks with a hammer.
For the caption, he wrote: “Thank you for celebrating your Diwali with us here at the Akshay Kumar 14th International Kudo Tournament. Coming here is always humbling, meeting you all reminds me of my beginning.”
“I hope with the help of this tournament we help Kudo grow in India with each passing year.”
On the acting front, Akshay’s latest release is ‘Ram Setu’. He also has ‘Selfiee’, ‘OMG: Oh My God 2’, ‘Gorkha’, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Soorarai Pottru’ remake. (IANS)
