Juju Productions Presents Bollywood Concert “Jaan Meri” on March 23 to Raise Funds for MITHAS at Kresge Auditorium

CAMBRIDGE, MA— Juju Productions, a Boston-based music and video production company, will produce a Bollywood concert “Jaan Meri” on March 23 at Kresge Auditorium in Cambridge, MA to raise funds for MIT’s Heritage Arts of South Asia, popularly known as MITHAS.

For more than 25 years, MITHAS, a non-profit volunteer organization, has brought enlightening Classical Indian music to audiences in New England – increasing the awareness and pride of Indian heritage.

“All ticket revenues from this event will go to MITHAS,” said Anuradha Palakurthi-Juju, a popular Indian-American Bollywood singer, who also serves as chair of MITHAS. “Classical music thrives through an active support, and I am glad to nominate the area’s best classical music organization MITHAS as the full beneficiary of this unique Bollywood concert. Indian classical music has played a formidable role in Bollywood.”

Anuradha, who recently launched “Music Room”with veteran Bollywood singer and composer Bappi Lahiri and his son Bappa Lahiri on Zee TV Americas and has given many live music concerts with Bollywood singers, said that “Jaan Meri” will be a Bollywood film-based entertaining musical show.

“We are flying in the much loved, in-demand Kamlesh Bhadkamar and his incredible band from Mumbai to accompany me,” said Anuradha. “I’m excited to share the stage with them again.”

As a special add-on, Juju Productions will also launch Anuradha’s 6-song Music Video Album, also titled “Jaan Meri”. The music was for the album was composed by Ustad Nishat Khan, one of the greatest Sitar player in the world and a 7th generation member of the Etawa-Imdadkhani Gharana.  The music was recorded at YashRaj studios with 60+ live musicians – some of the best in the industry.

“During the event we will play the videos of the songs – made by great Bollywood Directors in Mumbai, LA and Tbilisi,” said Anuradha. “Be pleasantly surprised by some faces you will recognize in the videos. I’m also pleased that lyrics for two songs were penned by Boston’s own evocative poetess, Sunayana Kachroo.”

For the first time in Boston Juju Productions is trying to get a Lights and Camera team from iconic YashRaj Films in Mumbai to record the event for subsequent publication/broadcast.

The show will be managed by Juju Productions CEO Manisha Jain. Tickets for the show will be available soon.
