Kangana Ranaut has a good sense of humour: Mishti

Mumbai– Actress Mishti Chakraborty, who essays a pivotal role in “Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi”, says the upcoming film’s lead actress Kangana Ranaut has a good sense of humour that many people do not know about.

Mishti also praised Kangana for knowing the technical aspect of filmmaking very well.

Asked about her experience of working with Kangana, Mishti told IANS here: “Many people do not know that Kangana has a good sense of humour and she is very down to earth and humble.

“She is always serious about her work but that does not mean she will create pressure… She mingled with us and I bonded really well with her. At the beginning of my career, I did not even imagine to work with her but I surely looked up to her as an inspiration. She is such a fine actress and just by watching her performance, one can learn so much.”

“Manikarnika” is based on the life journey of warrior queen Rani Laxmibai.

Sushant, Jacqueline-starrer ‘Drive’ to release on June 28

Mumbai– Actors Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez’s upcoming film “Drive”, which was supposed to hit the screens last year, will now release on June 28.

The Dharma Productions’ project was earlier locked for release on March 2, 2018. Then it was announced that “Drive” will race to cinema halls on September 7.

Filmmaker Karan Johar announced the new release date and official teaser on Twitter on Thursday. In the over 20-second-video, cars can be seen ready to race.

“On your marks, get set and race. See you in cinemas for a pulsating ride on June 28, 2019. ‘Drive’,” Karan tweeted.

In an interview to IANS, Sushant had said about the film: “That’s a heist film. When you are going to watch the film, you would not know what is going to happen next.”

Pulkit starts shooting in Kerala for ‘Haathi…’

Thiruvananthapuram– Actor Pulkit Samrat on Thursday started shooting Adoor in Kerala for his upcoming film “Haathi Mere Saathi”.

“Lush green forests, chirping birds and the gentle beast…that’s what the shoot for ‘Haathi….’ is like every single day. A life changing experience which not only is beautiful at the face of it, but the soul too,” Pulkit said in a statement.

He will be seen playing a mahout in the film, which also stars actors like Rana Daggubati and Kalki Koechlin.

“Elephant corridors being encroached upon by corporate giants is a big menace claiming lives of several elephants every year,” said Pulkit.

“The film revolves around true incidents from all over the country and makes us pause and think about it while entertaining us with scenic visuals and soulful music,” he added.

The trilingual, helmed by Prabhu Solomon, is being shot simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.

Arsh Bajwa to star in short film ‘The Struggle’

Mumbai– Actor Arsh Bajwa, who featured in Taapsee Pannu and Amit Sadh starrer “Running Shaadi”, has bagged the lead role in the short film titled “The Struggle”.

The film is being helmed by debutante director Chase MacAnear.

Excited about the project, Arsh said in a statement: “The film came to me by luck. I met the makers on Instagram first time and I was finalised over social media itself.

“Chase MacAnear wrote the story after getting inspired from the real life incident which happened with his Indian friend.”

Arsh said his role is that of a migrant.

“The story is about an Indian man who migrates to the US illegally due to financial crisis. The film will depict his struggles and how he paves his road to success in the foreign land,” he added.

“The Struggle” will release in March.

Sonam Arora to portray tomboy in ‘Gandii Baat 2’

Mumbai– Actress Sonam Arora will be seen playing a tomboy in an episode of web series “Gandii Baat 2”. She says while the role was challenging, it was the bold content of the show which attracted her.

ALTBalaji’s “Gandii Baat 2” will begin streaming on January 7.

Sonam loved the entire process — right from her look test to dubbing — for the character that she plays.

“Roop, the character that I play, is a complete tomboy. Right from the way she dresses, talks, her body language. This role for me was a challenging one as I played someone totally different to my true personality,” she said in a statement.

“Till my look test for Roop, I simply didn’t know the intricacies of the part that I was playing. What excited me was knowing the type of bold and erotic content that a show like ‘Gandii Baat’ was famous for.

“All I can say is that Roop is just like her name, one with many sides to her. Season 1 was a colossal hit and I hope season 2 touches new heights,” added Sonam, who was also seen in the film “Satyamev Jayate”.

Megha takes cue from ‘Namastey London’

Mumbai– Actress Megha Chakraborty says she took inspiration for a scene of her show “Krishna Chali London” from the movie “Namastey London”.

In an upcoming episode on the show, Krishna (Megha) will be seen recreating a scene from “Namastey London” where she shuts down Dr. Veer who refuses to treat an Indian due to lack of immigration papers.

“My inspiration for the scene has been the popular movie, ‘Namastey London’ Just like how actor Akshay Kumar stands up against the British for criticising and insulting India, on the show, Krishna without any hesitation stands up for her country and protests against Dr. Veer for refusing to treat an Indian,” Megha said in a statement.

Actor Dinesh Mehta a big Hugh Jackman fan

Mumbai– TV actor Dinesh Mehta says he is a big fan of Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman and he would love to portray his popular character of Wolverine on small screen.

“I would love to play a mutant who posseses animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities, powerful regenerative ability known as a healing factor, and three retractable claws in each hand.

“Wolverine is a dream role for me as I’m a fan of Hug Jackman. Creating such role on Indian TV would be a great opportunity for me,” Dinesh said in a statement.

Dinesh is known for his roles in TV shows like “Chandragupta Maurya” and “Diya Aur Baati Hum”. (IANS)
