Aishwarya reminisces ‘roka’ with Abhishek
Mumbai– Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has recounted how her ‘roka’ ceremony with husband Abhishek Bachchan happened “really suddenly” after he proposed.
With over a decade of marital bliss, Abhishek and Aishwarya are parents to a daughter named Aaradhya.
In an upcoming episode of celebrity chat show “Famously Filmfare Season 2”, Aishwarya spoke about the proposal and ‘roka’ ceremony, read a statement.
Reminiscing the moment, she said: “He proposed, which was amazing! And it happened like really suddenly.”
“I didn’t even know there’s something called a ‘roka’ ceremony. We are South Indians, so, I don’t know what a ‘roka’ is and suddenly there is this call from their house to ours; ‘we are coming’. And we were like, okay. And I’m like, dad? He was like; it will take him one more day (to come).
“Abhishek was like ‘we are all coming and I can’t stop dad. We are on our way. We are coming to your place’. I’m like, ‘Oh my God!’ So, this ‘roka’ is happening with a call to my father, who is out of town.”
Virat makes me a happy girl: Anushka Sharma
Sydney– Actress Anushka Sharma says her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli always makes her happy.
The “Zero” star, who is currently spending quality time with Kohli in Sydney, shared a cosy photograph with him on social media and wrote: “You make me such a happy girl.”
Kohli is leading team India in the on-going test match series against Australia here. And to support him, Anushka is giving him a cheerful company.
A few days ago, she also joined Kohli for team India’s meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
The couple, who tied the knot in December 2017, recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary and New Year’s Eve here.
Necessary to guide children on good lifestyle habits: Aamir Khan
Mumbai– Superstar Aamir Khan has said it is necessary to guide children on good lifestyle habits so that they can stay away from obesity and other related diseases.
Aamir Khan was interacting with media at the launch of Child Obesity Team (COST) website along with Maharashtra’s Water Resources & Irrigation, Medical Education Minister Girish Mahajan and Dr Sanjay Borude, bariatric (obesity) surgeon on Friday in Mumbai.
Speaking about malnutrition and obesity in India, Khan said, “On one side we are dealing with malnutrition and on the other we are fighting obesity. Our government is trying to deal with it…I was also a brand ambassador of UNICEF. So, I feel we have to work towards eradicating both malnutrition and obesity.”
Khan said it is necessary to guide children by teaching them good lifestyle habits. “I am really happy that Dr Sanjay Borude has started this initiative where through this website, obese children and their parents can get support and guidance.”
Khan said nutrition is the most important factor for being fit and healthy. “I got to know about the importance of nutrition when I met Dr Vinod Dhurandhar while training for ‘Ghajini’. He told me we are what we eat, and the more you eat healthy, fresh and balanced meal, the more you will feel healthy and fit. I always tell these things to my children but they don’t listen to me.
It’s a lot of fun playing a conman: Arshad Warsi
Mumbai– Actor Arshad Warsi, who plays a conman in “Fraud Saiyaan”, says it’s exciting to play a character like that with a romantic streak.
In the movie, Arshad plays the character of Bhola Prasad Tripathi who tricks a number of women into marrying him for their riches until one day he gets caught and falls into a fix.
This is not the first time that the actor has essayed a conman on-screen.
“I think it is a lot of fun playing a conman. A conman is a very interesting an amazing character in real life, making people believe in something that is not there is an art. In ‘Fraud Saiyaan’, I am playing a romantic conman, which is a whole new challenge,” Arshad said in a statement.
The film also stars Saurabh Shukla and Sara Loren in key roles.
Prakash Jha Productions has presented this Drama King Entertainment production, which is releasing on January 18.
Geetanjali Mishra enjoys playing cameos
Mumbai– Actress Geetanjali Mishra gets mostly cameos in TV shows, but she isn’t complaining.
“I enjoy getting noticed on-screen. Cameos play an important role in the shows. Many important twists and plots revolve around cameo performers. I made my acting debut with ‘Sangam’ which was a lengthy role, but now I enjoy more of episodic and cameo roles,” Geetanjali said in a statement.
She has been part of episodic dramas like “Crime Patrol” and “Savdhaan India”.
“Cameos help me to become a different person again and again, and my fans can see a new me. It feels good to entertain them with a new role and a look everytime,” she added.
Randheer Rai to play negative lead in ‘Jiji Maa’
Mumbai– Actor Randheer Rai will play the negative lead role as a business tycoon in the show “Jiji Maa”.
“My character’s name is Abhishek Sanghvi. He is a young business tycoon and a confident, classy and good-looking guy,” Randheer said in a statement.
“The show is taking a leap. I will be introduced as a business competitor to Suyash Rawat (essayed by actor Dishank Arora). I am playing the negative lead,” he added.
Randheer has featured in Bollywood movies like “Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty” and “Poster Boys”.
“Jiji Maa” is his second show.
Talking about his first show “Karn Sangini”, he said: “I signed ‘Karn Sangini’ thinking that the role was really important. But now I feel that there is nothing much for me to act in it.
“Even the character has become like a cameo. We all know how important Yudhishthira was in the epic story ‘Mahabharata’. However, I understand the show is based on Karna’s love life.”
Quitting the show was a “mutual understanding” between him, the channel and the production house.
“I also understand that tracks are at times changed to increase the TRP of the show. I would love to work with the channel and production house soon,” he said. (IANS)
