Organizers of the event said on their website that Chair Yoga is appropriate for people of all levels of mobility. It is a series of breathing and stretching exercises done in a chair, which increases mobility of the joints, flexibility, strength and stamina. Some of the exercises are performed standing behind the chair, while holding on.
Participants will learn breathing techniques to enhance lung capacity, as well as easy stretches and yoga postures. Yoga is good for all bodies. Beginners are welcome.
Novick, MFA, is an author, teacher, artist, and professional level Kripalu Yoga teacher. Her approach to yoga encourages everyone to listen and love their body.
