Total Dhamaal shoot begins, Riteish misses Ashish
Mumbai– The shooting for director Indra Kumar’s comedy film “Total Dhamaal” has commenced. Actor Riteish Deshmukh says he will miss working with Ashish Chowdhry in it.
Riteish on Tuesday took to Twitter and shared a photograph of the film’s clapboard. He wrote: “And the madness begins. ‘Total Dhamaal’. Will miss working with my dear friend Ashish Chowdhry.”
Ashish replied: “No co-actor and specially, no friend like you… And of course no madness like we’ve have in ‘Dhamaal’. Go hit this one out the park once again Riteish.”
Ashish was a part of the previous two instalments of “Dhamaal”.
“Total Dhamaal” is the third film in the comedy entertainer franchise “Dhamaal”. The second film was “Double Dhamaal”.
Slated to release on December 7, “Total Dhamaal” also stars Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Arshad and Jaaved. The film will be jointly produced by Kumar along with Ashok Thakeria and Ajay.
Rajkummar finishes first schedule of ‘Stree’
Mumbai– Actor Rajkummar Rao has wrapped up the first schedule of his upcoming horror-comedy “Stree”, and says it was fun.
Rajkummar was shooting in Chanderi, Bhopal.
“Finished the first schedule of ‘Stree’ in this beautiful town. Chanderi. Had so much fun, with the most amazing team Shraddha Kapoor, Amar Kaushik, Raj & DK, Maddock Films, Dinoo. Can’t wait for you guys to watch it soon,” Rajkummar tweeted.
Helmed by Amar Kaushik, “Stree” is being backed by Maddock Films, jointly produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj and DK.
The film is based on an urban legend set in a small village named Chanderi in Bhopal. Music-composer duo Sachin-Jigar have scored its album.
Meanwhile, veteran actor Anil Kapoor, who has worked with Rajkummar in “Fanne Khan”, is all praise for him.
As Rajkummar went for jogging on Tuesday for the first time in three months after his ankle injury, Anil tweeted: “You went for a run without me? Rajkummar Rao, always pushing through every hurdle and coming out a rock star! So happy to see you recover and doing what you love!”
Guru Randhawa’s ‘Lahore’ makes it to Billboard charts
Mumbai– Singer Guru Randhawa’s single “Lahore” has secured a spot in the Billboard Top 25 on YouTube. He says it was a dream to make it to the international list.
The song has been placed 21 on Billboard Top 25 on YouTube this week.
“It was my dream to feature on Billboard charts with my independent music. And that day is here. It gives me immense happiness. My entire team and fans who loved ‘Lahore’ are feeling very proud about our entry into Billboard world charts. I’m living the dream now,” Randhawa said in a statement.
“My independent singles were doing well. They made it to Bollywood and now in Billboard,” added the “Tu meri rani” hitmaker.
The list has songs by artistes like Ed Sheeran, Luis Fonsi and Bruno Mars.
Randhawa’s song “High rated Gabru” will be featured in the “Nawabzaade” movie.
Comedians offer quirky take on budget
Mumbai– Comedians Kunal Kamra, Sorabh Pant and Anirban Dasgupta will bring out a quirky take on the Union Budget 2018-19, which is to be announced on Thursday.
The comedians have already featured in one video sharing their pre-budget expectations via financial platform moneycontrol.com.
Together, they aim to bring some lightness and quirkiness to the most serious financial conversation of the year.
Commenting on who among celebrities would he discuss the budget announcement with and why, Kunal said in a statement: “I would love to discuss the Union Budget, Railway Budget with Karan Johar because he brings so much to the table in this conversation.
“I’d like to discuss the Railway Budget with him and wait for him to say, ‘No, they can’t spend so much’.”
On the idea behind a comical take on the budget, Kunal added: “This is a great idea to simplify the budget for everyone and using comedy as a tool for this.
“I am glad to be associated with this activity and it is a good way to get ourselves educated on the budget this time.”
Loved shooting ‘Whatta Man’ with Bruno Mars: Mallika
Mumbai– Actress Mallika Sherawat has congratulated singer Bruno Mars for winning the Record of the Year honour at the 60th Grammy Awards ceremony and says she loved shooting with him for the song “Whatta Man”.
Mallika shared a behind the scenes video of herself with the “Just the way you are” hitmaker from the video, on Twitter.
“Congratulations Bruno Mars for the historic win at the Grammys. Loved shooting the video ‘Whatta man’ with you Bruno Mars. Grammy Awards 2018,” she captioned the video.
This wasn’t the “Murder” actress’ first international collaboration. She earlier collaborated with legendary martial arts movie star Jackie Chan in the 2005 film “The Myth”.
The 39-year-old actress, who hails from a small village in Hisar district of Haryana, was also seen in the bilingual film “Hisss” in 2010 by Jennifer Chambers Lynch.
On the Bollywood front, Mallika was last seen in the 2015 film “Dirty Politics”, a political thriller film directed by K.C. Bokadia.
Jahnu Barua’s ‘Unread Pages’ gets US producers
Los Angeles– Filmmaker Jahnu Barua’s directorial “Unread Pages” will be co-produced by American producers, Ivanhoe Pictures. The film will be the National award-winning director’s second international project.
Barua, who is also the recipient of the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in India, has won accolades for his projects like “Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara”, “Baandhon”, “Mumbai Cutting”, “Ajeyo” and ” Xagoroloi Bohu Door”.
Barua adapted “Unread Pages,” from his own original story, reports variety.com.
The film follows the story of a happy family that is torn apart due to some unfortunate circumstances. Following those traumatising events, and having been estranged from his land and culture, the protagonist returns to Assam to redeem himself.
Production, in India and the US, is expected to start in the second half of the year.
“The story spans almost three generations of a family, and the third generation, the main protagonist, is settled in the US, married to an American wife. Hence, the present-day life of the protagonist is depicted in a North America city,” said Shahnaab Alam, co-producer of the film.
“The budget will be commensurate with the creative and production requirements of the film, as per the standards of independent Indian films with very good production values,” Alam added.
Ivanhoe Pictures is also producing an untitled eight-episode long India-set TV series, taking a compassionate look at policing in a developing country.
The show is in production in Delhi under the direction of Indo-Canadian Richie Mehta.
“Unread Pages” will be the first film to be made under the recently announced Assam Film Tourism Policy, which came into effect from January 1, 2018. The policy is geared to attract film projects and production units to Assam, with long term benefits accruing to the state’s tourism sector. (IANS)
