WALTHAM, MA– Jaskirat Kaur has been crowned Miss India New England 2017. Other winners are: Aakriti Raj: Miss India Teen New England 2017; and Shalini Kashyap: Mrs India New England 2017, according to the announcement made on the Facebook Page of Miss India New England Pageant.
Other winners in the contest, which was held on Sunday at Crowne Plaza in Woburn, MA, were: Miss India Talented: Nili Pandya; Miss India Teen Talented: Aishwarya Narayanan; and Mrs. India Talented : Iswarya Prabhakar. Viewer’s Choice 2017, which was based on audience voting, went to Shalini Kashyap, according to the Facebook post.
The 1st Runner ups in the top three categories were: Serena Arora (Miss India), Aishwarya Narayanan (Miss Teen); and Shweta Rawat (Mrs.).
The New England pageant has produced Miss India Worldwide Monica Gill, now a Bollywood actress and first Mrs. India Worldwide Namita Dodwadkar.
The three New England winners are now eligible to participate in Miss, Miss Teen and Mrs. India USA pageant, which is scheduled for Dec. 17 at New Jersey’s Royal Alberts Palace in Edison. Organized by Neelam and Dharmatma Saran of IFC, it is the largest and oldest Indian pageant in the United States.
