CHELMSFORD, MA– NESSP Sai Temple will conduct Sri SeetaRama Kalyanotsavam on Saturday, April 8, at its temple premises in Chelmsford, MA.
Rama and Seetha represent the ideal Godly husband and wife in the Hindu mythology, who are revered and worshipped all over India. Rama’s story, otherwise known as Ramayana, is a great Indian epic.
Kalyanotsavam literally means Marriage Festival is the re-depiction of the Celestial marriage between Seetha & Rama. It is performed to the Utsava Murtis of Sri Rama and Seeta Devi. The wedding ceremony is held according to Agamas (rules) that were defined thousands of years ago. This is followed by recitation of Vedic mantras and pronouncing the family pedigree of the brides and bridegroom.
The wedding is followed by elaborate Mahaprasad/Bhandara prepared by volunteers who work dedicatedly and as hard for the divine marriage as they would for one among their family.
The date of Kalyanotsavam is April, 8th Saturday 9.00 AM onwards.
Venue : NESSP Sai Temple, 290 Littleton Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824.
