WOBURN, MA—Meet Fatima Armaghan, who was crowned Miss India New England this past weekend. She graduated from UMass Dartmouth in business management and finance, and now does full-time modeling and acting. Her commercial is airing right now with David Ortiz (Big Papi) from the Red Sox on NESN.
Armaghan has also made it to Hollywood. She has worked on Patriots Day (featuring Mark Wahlberg, and on Stronger and Transformers 5. They all are coming out in 2017, Armaghan, a resident of Woburn, MA, told INDIA New England News.
“I speak 5 languages: Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, English and Bengali. I got interested in the pageant about a month ago,” Armaghan said. “My future plans are to continue acting and modeling and influencing desi girls.”
Where does Armaghan gets her inspiration?
“My mother inspires me because she is the strongest person I have ever met and she is always supporting me,” said Armaghan, who grew up in Massachusetts. “The values I live by are respect and accept everyone regardless to the race, religion or background.”
The way Armaghan has followed her own dreams, she advises other girls to do the same.
“The advice I would like to give to young girls, is to always follow your dreams and passion because it will be worth it in the end,” said Armaghan.
Armaghan was crowned Miss India New England this past weekend. Other winners were: “Miss India Teen New England” Saniya Palia and “Mrs. India of New England” Soumya Dharmateja.
Armaghan, who graduated from UMass Dartmouth earlier this year, is now qualified to participate in the national Miss India USA pageant and Dharmateja in the national Mrs. India USA competition.
The local Miss India New England pageant was held in the Atkinson Country Club & Resorts in Atkinson, NH.
