Bostonians to Celebrate Day of Yoga on Sunday at MIT’s Kresge Lawn

CAMBRIDGE, MA—As the second International Day of Yoga is being celebrated all over the world, Bostonians are getting ready to celebrate yoga and meditation  on Sunday, June 19, at MIT’s Kresge Lawn in Cambridge, MA.

Jay Gupta, a big-time yoga proponent and one of the pioneers of yoga in New England, said the Kresge lawn will be filled with yoga enthusiasts from throughout the New England area to celebrate Day of Yoga.

Yoga-Gupta-1The day will start at 9:00 am with Shankh Naad (blowing of conch shells) and will be followed by Subtle Yoga, Surya Namaskar, Natya Yoga, Pranayam and Meditation sessions led by accomplished teachers from New England representing over 18 dedicated organizations. The program concludes at 11:30 am.

“It is free of charge with giveaways for the early arrivers,” said Gupta, who is founder of Yoga Caps. “Most sessions are suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners alike.”

He said Yoga teachers will be honored  and felicitated at the event for their dedication in spreading this ancient science.

In the event of rain, the program will move indoors. Kresge Lawn is just outside the auditorium at 48 Massachusetts Avenue and free parking is available at 124 Vassar Street in Cambridge.
