Ashoka-sDarpan Presents English Play Emperor Ashoka on May 20-22

WATERTOWN, MA–Darpan, a new non-profit theater organization, is presenting the captivating odyssey of Emperor Ashoka of the Mauryan Dynasty that ruled South Asia circa 300 BC at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA.

The play brings to life the journey of Emperor Askoka, his motivations, his trials, and his transformation from a ruthless killing machine to a man of love and compassion. The play will be staged on May 20, 21 and 22 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts.

Through this performing art, Darpan presents King Ashoka’s complete journey. From his youth, to his motivations, to his trials, and to his conversation from a ruthless killing machine to a man of love and compassion. Historians have considerable consensus about Ashoka’s chronology, what he did and his adoption of Buddhism, but there are differing views of thought on his life as a person or king.

IIT Association hosts a symposium on 21st Century Medicine on Saturday

Shekhar WadekarCAMBRIDGE, MA— IIT Association of Greater New England, known as IIT AGNE, is organizing a panel discussion on “Our Connected World and 21st Century Medicine”, featuring  four speakers on Saturday, May 21st, in Cambridge, MA.

The speakers will try to answer these questions: How can a Radiologist read MRI scans in an ER across the globe?  Can someone assess an ECG sitting at home? Can you reach and monitor patients living in remote areas?

Wholistic Health Alliance brings holistic symposium on Saturday

BILLERICA, MA– Wholistic Health Alliance is hosting its first holistic symposium on Saturday at Dwarkamai Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple North Billerica, MA. The venue is located at 267 Boston Rd, # 9, North Billerica.

The symposium will be held from 9:30 am to 4:15 pm. Topics and S=speakers include Ayurveda: Pratibha Shah; Acupuncture: Suraja Roychowdhury; Nutrition: Sneh Jaisingh; Reiki: Nancy Carlson:  Yoga Therapy: Beth Marik; Essential Oils: Michelle L Neuner, Louise Lussier; Therpeutic Yoga: Maureen St. Croix; and Meditation: Narendra Sharma.

Hindu Heritage Day on Saturday in Marlborough

MARLBOROUGH, MA—Greater Boston’s Indian community is celebrating Hindu Heritage Day on Saturday at Marlborough Middle School located at 25 Union Street in Marlborough, MA.

The event, which is organized every year by Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America, starts at 3:00 pm and features a cultural program, a variety of booths from various vendors and non-profit organization.

The function is aimed at celebrating Indian heritage, diversity, sanskrti, culture, traditions, arts and food. This is the 20th consecutive year that a team of volunteers from VHPA is organizing Hindu Heritage Day for the residents of Greater Boston area. The theme for this year’s HHD is “Bhakti”.

Special Guests of Honor this year include: Pradeep and Sunita Shukla of Learnquest Academy of Music;  Arati Ankalikar Tikekar, top vocalist, recipient of India’s National Award for best playback singer and the prestigious Pt. Kumar Gandharve Saman and Pt. Jasraj Award;  and Subu Kota, CEO and Chairman of The Boston Group.

IANH Hosts Vasant Utsav This Weekend

NASHUA, NH—India Association of New Hampshire, known as IANH, is hosting Vasant Utsav on May 21-22 at Nashua North High School  located at 10 Titan Way in Nashua NH.
