WALTHAM, MA—Despite brewing controversies regarding security, water supply and pollution related to the World Culture Festival, which is being organized by Art of Living in New Delhi this week, thousands of people from the United States are expected to attend.
“Thousands of people from the United States alone have expressed interest in attending the World Culture Festival,” said Ram Chelakara, an Art of Living volunteer in Boston who is attending the event in New Delhi.
About 3.5 million people are expected to attend the event and meditate together making it the largest spiritual gathering in the world. As many as 35 heads of state from around the world are expected to attend the event as well.
The World Culture Festival 2016 is a celebration of The Art of Living’s 35 years of service, humanity, spirituality and human values. It takes place on March 11-13, 2016 in New Delhi. The festival will celebrate the diversity in cultures from across the world while simultaneously highlighting our unity as a human family, according to organizers.
The Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says: “We are inspired to continue with more enthusiasm and greater speed to realize the dream where life becomes a celebration and the world wil become one family. The World Culture Festival is a celebration of achievements and a vision to do better.”
