Sunny Leone confident Telugu film will change her image
Mumbai– Actress Sunny Leone is excited about featuring in action sequences in a period war film in Telugu.
The actress has been signed up for a movie to be directed by V.C. Vadivudaiyan. Ponse Stephen is producing the film. The yet untitled film will be “based on the culture of south India”, read a statement.
For this project, she is all geared up to learn sword fighting, horse riding and other stunt-related arts. For this purpose, a special trainer from Andhra Pradesh will fly to Mumbai and teach Sunny all these arts.
Sunny has given a call sheet of 150 days, and around 70 minutes of the movie is said to be computer generated imagery-driven. It will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
“After this movie, I am sure my image will change completely. I have always liked doing action sequences. I was waiting for a script like this only for years. I started preparing for this movie from the minute director V.C. Vadivudayan narrated me the script.
“I have a special love towards south India, so I am very happy to do a straight Telugu movie. I have a lot of my fans in south India, especially Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.”
The shoot will start from February.
Rishi cancels film shoot to attend Shashi Kapoor’s funeral
New Delhi– Actor Rishi Kapoor, who was shooting for “Rajma Chawal” in the national capital, has rushed back to Mumbai to be with his family after the demise of veteran actor-producer and his uncle Shashi Kapoor.
Shashi Kapoor, the romantic screen icon of the 1970s and early 1980s, died on Monday at a hospital in Mumbai. He was 79.
“We are the airport looking at the flight schedule, and want to reach Mumbai at the earliest. We might go tonight or tomorrow morning,” Shanti Malik, who works closely with the Kapoor family, told IANS on Monday evening.
Malik also said that he doesn’t know the cause of Shashi Kapoor’s death, and would be in position to give out details on Tuesday morning.
The younger brother of late Raj and Shammi Kapoor, who were both actors par excellence, Shashi Kapoor started his tryst with acting at the age of four, with plays directed and produced by his father Prithviraj Kapoor.
He started acting in films as a child in the late 1940s. His best known performances as child artist were in “Aag” (1948) and “Awaara” (1951), where he played the younger version of the character played by his elder brother Raj.
When he grew up, he made his debut as a leading man in the 1961 film “Dharmputra”, and went on to appear in more than 150 Hindi films.
Shashi Kapoor, whose nuanced acts in memorable films like “Deewar”, “Satyam Shivam Sundaram”, “Trishul” and “Kabhi Kabhie” captivated Hindi film buffs, was married to English theatre actress Jennifer Kendal.
He had three children — Kunal, Karan and Sanjana Kapoor.
I’m not dreaming about Oscars: Rajkummar
Mumbai– Actor Rajkummar Rao, who has been on an award-winning spree, says that he is not dreaming about the Oscars.
Rajkummar was named the Best Actor (Critics) for “Newton” and also won the Best Supporting Actor honour for “Bareilly Ki Barfi” at the Star Screen Awards here on Sunday. “Newton” is India’s official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.
But the actor said here: “I am not dreaming about Oscars. I know it is better to be just neutral and be happy about the fact that it is India’s official entry for the Oscars this year.”
In 2017, Rajkummar had six releases in a row, and they were successful. He said it is indeed a “sixer”.
“It is kind of a sixer! I am happy about the fact that most of my films did well and people like my efforts and sincerity,” he added.
The actor will be attending the Oscars ceremony next year with the “Newton” team.
Next year, Rajkummar will be seen in “Love Sonia”, “5 Weddings”, “Omerta”, “Shimla Mirchi”, “Fanney Khan” and “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga”.
Chetan Hansraj to play reptilian in TV show
Mumbai– Actor Chetan Hansraj has been roped in to play a reptilian named Mahish in the mythological show “Shaktipeeth Ke Bhairav”.
“The character is of an ‘asura’, a reptilian, like Medusa with multiple snake heads, and it is awesome to essay such roles,” Chetan said in a statement.
“I believe in experiencing different characters that normally you wouldn’t see. I am sure the viewers will be in for some umpteen entertainment with this track line,” he added.
Chetan’s entry will bring a lot of twists in the storyline, according to a source.
“Shaktipeeth Ke Bhairav” depicts the mythical story of 52 ‘shakti peeths’ from the perspective of Lord Shiva’s Bhairav form.
Also featuring Rohit Bakshi, the show is aired on BIG Magic. (IANS)
