Two Hindi Comedy Plays and Local Poets, Writers and Theatre Personalities to Feature at Hindi Manch Sahitya Sammelan on Dec. 18

CONCORD, MA— Hindi Manch Sahitya Vibhag, a division of Hindi Manch, will present two Hindi comedy plays and local poets, writers, and theatre personalities of New England area on Sunday, Dec. 18, at its Hindi Manch Sahitya Sammelan in Concord, MA. Hindi Manch, a non-profit organization, promotes Hindi, Urdu languages and related dialects through music, theatre, cultural events and literary sittings.

Hindi Manch Sahitya Sammelans, which was first held in 2013 and repeated in 2015, have been very well received by the Indian and South Asian community.

This year’s Sammelan, which will be held at Thoreau School Auditorium in Concord, MA, will present renowned poets, writers, and theatre personalities of New England area, and will also introduce some new faces on the horizon of Hindi-Urdu Literature.

Key members of the Sahitya Vibhag members working on this year’s program are:  Sudhanshu Mishra, Shubha Chungi, Jaya Pande, Syed Ali Rizvi and Sanjay Jain.

Along with poems, couplets, Nazms and Gazals from various local poets, the event will feature two Hindi comedy plays “La-ilaj ilaaj” and ‘Grihadasha ki Dasha’. Another attraction of the evening will be two Songs highlighting the beauty of Hindi Literature, will be presented by some renowned singers of New England area.

hindi-manch-15The Poets, performing this year are, Kiran Naath, Mareej Kirmani, Mahmood Alam, Sunayna Kachroo, Maneesh Shrivastava, Poppy Awasthi Charnalia, Purvi Shah and Amrit Chopra.

The Play ‘La-ilaj ilaaz will be staged by Preetesh Shrivastava, Monisha Prakash, Pranay Khare, Satish Palyam, Mahesh Gadgil, Krithi Nathan, Seema Gupta, and Aryan Narayan, directed by Mahesh Gadgil and Mohan Dali.

The actors staging the second play, “Grihadasha ki Dasha” are: Sanjay Jain, Pratibha Krishnamurthy, Java Joshi, Ajay Jaisingh and a young actor Arth Joshi directed by Anish Khanzode and Mohan Dali. The songs will be performed by Ravi Torvi, Jayashree Shahane,  Rajiv Gangurde and Sonal Limbachia.

“The Hindi Manch Sahitya Sammelan caters to the literary taste of the lovers of Hindi, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Brij Bhasha and associated dialects,” said Hindi Manch Preetesh Shrivastata.

Hindi Manch is a non-profit organization whose aim is to bring people who know or want to know Hindi, Urdu and related dialects together by cultural, social and educational programs and activities and to propagate Hindi language and culture in the future generations.
